After squeezing Eagle into the tightest spot so far, (trapped between two big rigs we couldn't even put our awning out,)
we were melting so we all had a dip in the ocean to cool off. The ocean in the keys is so warm though it doesn't exactly chill your bones so we headed for the KAO pool which ended up being warmer than a bath. With nothing else for it, we sidled up to the only poolside campground bar so far and proceeded to allow Perry to run us through with a selection of exotic iced drinks. Aahhhhh. Tim forced himself to returned there after dinner and got friendly with the natives for some local tips and tricks on where to go and what to do.
A major stand-up paddle boarding event was underway and contestants were trickling in after a 4.5 mile loop. We returned to Key West in the late afternoon to see the town. We meandered along the harbour walk and stopped for dinner at the Boathouse - a rare and well-deserved meal out.
After dinner we wandered down Duval St. past a carnival of t-shirt shops and bars. Key West is a party town! We went down to Mallory Square, bought another Mojito and watched the sunset with thousands of others as happens every night. Fun.
Just lounging by the sea Georgia Grace!
