As I mentioned earlier in the blog, there
just aren’t that many highways in Canada through the mountains, so we drove
back towards Banff as our eventual destination was the Okanagan, warm, lake
country in southern BC. This time the
weather was clear and we could enjoy the beautiful view of the Rockies.
We stopped along the way to look at a waterfall. Note the substitute sunglasses....and Georgia actually wearing a headband, inspired by mum.
Karen was excited, because she finally saw some animals, big horn sheep and lots of them over the next two days.

When we got to Radium, we set up camp at
Redstreak campground and headed for the hot springs. They had two huge pools;
one 102 degrees and the other 84 degrees. We spent the next couple of hours going
from one pool to the other chasing Georgia and watching her go down the slide. We’re all getting a little road worn at this
point but a soak in the hot springs certainly helped.
Things Karen has noticed about Canada….lots
of gorgeous wildflowers everywhere, never far from an active freight train
track and no shortage of water, e.g. full and fast waterfalls and rivers (very
different from the US this year).
