Shuswap Lake

So after heading up the Thompson River we passed such glorious towns as Cache Creek and arrived at the beautiful Shuswap Lake Provincial Park. Not before we stopped at a fruit stand for fresh fruit and vegetables and oh yes… ICE CREAM!

It was a busy, hot day in the park with tons of families riding bikes and going to the lake, so we went to the lake too to cool off. We haven’t really been swimming in water that cold for a while but we started to get used to it. Georgia loved tightrope-walking the driftwood. A story of note; Dad was getting the fire ready for trout and asparagus (cause that’s how Dad does it) and he heard a sound coming from the campsite next door. When he looked, he was in time to see a 50+ foot tree fall down in the forest 40 feet away, and yes, it does make a sound. A really loud one. Luckily, it fell away from the trailer next door, but it was close.
