Santa Fe

Still feeling the strain of Carlsbad and with one less day to spend, we had a long, hot drive to Santa Fe.  We motivated ourselves to go into the town for a tour and bite to eat.  Santa Fe is a pretty little town, lots of art and artists, more than we’ve seen anywhere.

Galleries are really not a good place for 2 year olds.  However, we went into the Chuck Jones gallery and Georgia loved the Dr. Seuss art.  We realised she is not familiar with the Looney Tunes.

Tim and Karen would like to go back Santa Fe when Georgia is older so we can enjoy what it has to offer.

We had a simple dinner at a New Mexican restaurant.  For her Chilli dinner, it was a good thing that Karen had done some reading, because she got asked, “Red or green chiles?  Or Christmas (which means red and green together)?”  Karen opted for Christmas and stirred everything together when it came.  That may have been a mistake as it was very hot when tasted.  Karen ate and enjoyed it as there was a notice on the menu that said, “we are not responsible for the heat of the chiles”.

After dinner we went for a wander around the town.  We finally began to relax when Georgia had some safe room to run around in front of the cathedral.

G letting off some steam

The drive to Santa Fe and the campsite were gorgeous.

Art is everywhere in Santa Fe
